About this tool
Reversing text sounds trivial until you try it with real-world characters. A naive reversal breaks emoji made of several code points, separates accents from their letters and turns flags into pairs of letters. This tool reverses text the way a reader sees it, one visible character at a time, so everything comes out intact.
There are five ways to flip text. Reverse every letter to write a whole passage backwards, reverse the order of words to turn "one two three" into "three two one" while keeping spacing, reverse letters inside each word, reverse the order of lines to put the last line of a log or list first, or reverse each line on its own.
People use it for word puzzles and palindrome checks, mirror-writing games, creating test data for software and quickly turning an oldest-first list into newest-first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check whether something is a palindrome?
Reverse all letters and compare. Ignore spaces, punctuation and capitals when comparing: "Never odd or even" reads the same backwards once those are set aside.
Does it work with emoji and other alphabets?
Yes. Characters are counted as you see them, so emoji with skin tones, flags, accented letters and scripts such as Hindi are kept whole.
Can it write text upside down?
Not this tool. Upside-down lettering uses special look-alike characters; the Fancy Text Generator has that style.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Reversing happens on this page in your browser, and nothing you type is transmitted.
